Ala Hazrat Bhai Abdul Hannan Rahimi (rah) was the founder of the Siddiq Akbar Foundation, which he established in 1985 as a religious and welfare organization. He was popularly revered and known as “Peer Shaheb and Bhaiya Huzur” of Khanka Sirajia of Shankar, Dhanmondi, Dhaka.
He named the Foundation after the most favoured Khalifa of our Prophet Hazrat Muhammad ﷺ — Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddiq (ra) — with the twin aims of spreading the teachings of the Prophet and offering religious and welfare service to humanity.
Under his founding vision, the Foundation set out to imbibe and infuse the spirit of true Islamic teachings among all followers of Islam; to bring proper Islamic education, culture and values to the community; and to provide vocational training, health service and fellow-feeling for believers while serving the suffering of humanity.
The clinics, mosques, madrasas and orphanages that the Foundation runs today across Bangladesh are the living continuation of the work he began — a sadaqah jariyah whose reward, by the mercy of Allah, continues to flow.
